Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden group.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre trials and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Content
Players who accomplish the quest will obtain an unique katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
