“It was regrettable. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “There was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, our fans. The whole venue was filled with excitement for the Cowboys.”
Jones additionally emphasized that the gesture was completely accidental, happening amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he remarked. “The action was inadvertently done.
